CHARLESTON, S.C. — Gusting wind blew a transport container off a tractor-trailer and onto a Charleston, SC, Police Division squad automobile Saturday, smashing the police automobile.

Nobody was injured within the mishap, which the police division reported on social media, together with a photograph of the closely broken automobile.

The extraordinary collision occurred on the Interstate 526 bridge that crosses the Wando River in Charleston County and connects Daniels Island with Mount Nice.

After the container smashed into the passenger aspect of the police automobile, it slid off bridge and into the river, based on police.

The container that hit the police automobile wasn’t the one one blown off a truck, based on Charleston police. “A number of” containers and semitrailers had been overturned, closing the Don Holt and Wando bridges.

Many components of the Carolinas skilled excessive winds since Friday night and Saturday, based on the Nationwide Climate Service.

In Charleston, meteorologists recorded a dozen gusts of 35 to 55 mph. One gust recorded on Fort Sumter reached 64 mph, which is identical wind velocity as a powerful tropical storm.
