The nurses at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester voted Monday to proceed to be represented by their union after an almost 10-month strike that was resolved in January.
The Nationwide Labor Relations Board livestreamed the vote, with the ultimate tally being 302-133 to retain the Massachusetts Nurses Affiliation, the Telegram & Gazette reported. Nurses voted sure or no in response to the query, “Do you want to be represented for functions of collective bargaining by MNA?”
The Nationwide Proper to Work Basis had backed a petition to drop the union.
The hospital, which is owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, mentioned in a press release that it “respects the choice of its nurses to proceed to be represented by the MNA.”
