PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) – The Coast Guard responded to a collision between two vessels Saturday morning close to the VT Halter Shipyards and Chevron docks in Pascagoula.
Round 1:30 a.m. Coast Guard Sector Cell watchstanders obtained a report from the Nationwide Response Middle of a collision between two vessels. The Valaris, a 752-foot drillship, reportedly broke freed from its moorings attributable to excessive winds and collided with the Akti, a bulk service ship.
The Valaris is reported to have roughly 580,000 gallons of diesel on board the vessel. Each vessels reportedly have minor harm, with some harm to the pier.

Coast Guard Sector Cell has despatched three prevention crew members to watch the state of affairs. There have been no experiences of accidents or air pollution right now.
The channel was beforehand closed attributable to climate however will stay closed till the vessels are separated.
